Abortion — Important Facts to Consider

No one enjoys talking about abortion. It's certainly never a fun topic. However, we at the Women's Care Center believe that every women considering an abortion has the right to be well informed. Often times, important information on this serious procedure that can effect the rest of your life is simply not made available. Regretfully, many women today are going through life wishing they had been told all the important facts.

Studies have shown that abortion can result in over 100 physical and psychological complications — including blood clots, punctured organs, infection, infertility and even death. Abortion also significantly increases your chances of developing breast cancer.

After an abortion, many women also suffer life-long feelings of guilt, grief, remorse and depression.

Because of lowered self-esteem and other emotional consequences, women who have abortions are more likely to abuse their other children. Child abuse rates in this country have risen dramatically since abortion was legalized.

Your baby's father may encourage you to obtain an abortion, to get him "off the hook." Well meaning friends and family members may also want you to abort as a quick solution for your situation. However, they do not have to live with this decision. You do — forever. After an abortion, 90% of couples usually break up.
